PILOTAGE BYELAW CONFIRMATION ACT, 1932.


AN ACT TO CONFIRM THE PILOTAGE BYELAW NUMBERED 56 AND MADE BY THE DUBLIN PORT AND DOCKS BOARD ON THE 10th DAY OF APRIL, 1930. [2nd December, 1932.]

WHEREAS the Dublin Port and Docks Board, being the pilotage authority for the Dublin pilotage district and acting in pursuance of the powers conferred on them by sub-section (4) of section 11 of the Pilotage Act, 1913 , duly made the pilotage byelaw set out in the Schedule to this Act on the 10th day of April, 1930:

AND WHEREAS such byelaw appears to the Minister for Industry and Commerce to exempt from compulsory pilotage ships of a class or description which were not, at the date of the passing of the Pilotage Act, 1913 , exempted in the Dublin pilotage district from compulsory pilotage and consequently such byelaw, by virtue of the proviso to the said sub-section (4) of section 11 of the said Act, requires to be confirmed by the Oireachtas as if it were a Bill confirming a pilotage order under the said Act:

BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED BY THE OIREACHTAS OF SAORSTÁT EIREANN AS FOLLOWS:—

Confirmation of byelaw in Schedule.

1.—The Pilotage Byelaw set out in the Schedule to this Act and duly made by the Dublin Port and Docks Board in exercise of the powers in that behalf vested in it by virtue of the Pilotage Act, 1913 , is hereby confirmed and it is hereby declared that the provisions of the said Byelaw shall have full force and effect.

2.—This Act may be cited as the Pilotage Byelaw Confirmation Act, 1932.

SCHEDULE

PILOTAGE BYELAW.

Byelaw 56. In addition to the ships excepted from compulsory pilotage under the Pilotage Act, 1913 , coasting ships of not exceeding 200 tons gross tonnage, if not carrying passengers, shall be and are hereby exempted from compulsory pilotage.
