THE SHANNON WORKS TRANSFER (No. 19) ORDER, 1930.

The Shannon Works Transfer (No. 19) Order, 1930, dated the 28th day of May, 1930, made by the Minister for Industry and Commerce pursuant to Sub-section (1) of Section 17 of the Electricity (Supply) Act, 1927 .

WHEREAS it is enacted by Sub-section (1) of Section 17 of the Electricity (Supply) Act, 1927 (No. 27 of 1927), that when the Shannon Works are completed and handed over to the Minister for Industry and Commerce by the Contractor engaged in the construction thereof, the said Minister shall, as soon as conveniently may be, by Order under his seal, hand such works over to the Electricity Supply Board and, in the event of any portion of the Shannon Works being completed and handed over to the said Minister by the said Contractor, the said Minister may, if he so thinks fit at any time thereafter, by order under his seal, hand over to the said Board such completed portion of the said works at any time before the completion of the whole of the said works.

AND WHEREAS the portion of the Shannon Works more particularly described in the Schedule hereto has been completed and handed over to the said Minister by the Contractor engaged in the construction thereof.

AND WHEREAS in the opinion of the said Minister it is expedient that the said portion of the Shannon Works should be handed over to the said Board as from the date of this Order.

NOW, THEREFORE I, PATRICK McGILLIGAN, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Sub-section (1) of Section 17 of the Electricity (Supply) Act, 1927 (No. 27 of 1927), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, do hereby order as follows; that is to say:—

1. This Order may be cited for all purposes as the Shannon Works Transfer (No. 19) Order, 1930.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas.

3. The portion of the Shannon Works more particularly described in the Schedule hereto shall be and it is hereby handed over as from the date of this Order to the Electricity Supply Board.

SCHEDULE REFERRED TO IN THE FOREGOING ORDER.

SCHEDULE OF WORKS.

Embankments, Pump Stations, Syphons and Landing Places between Meelick and Portumna.

Embankments and Drainage Trenches on both sides of the Shannon above the Weir and Inlet Works.

Weir and Fish Pass.

Canal Head, omitting the submerged wall.

Head Race Canal.

Syphons under the Head Race.

Bridges at Blackwater, Cloonlara, O'Briensbridge and Parteen.

Power Station—Underground Works and Buildings.

Tail Race.

Railway from Longpavement to Power Station.

All as set out on Plans annexed hereto.
