S.I. No. 80/2024 - The Irish Aviation Authority (Fees) Order 2015 (Revocation) Order 2024

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 1st March, 2024.

The Irish Aviation Authority, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by sections 5 , 58 , 59 and 60 of the Irish Aviation Authority Act, 1993 , as amended by the Air Navigation and Transport (Amendment) Act, 1998 , the Aviation Regulation Act, 2001 and the Air Navigation and Transport Act, 2022, hereby orders as follows:

1. This order may be cited as the Irish Aviation Authority (Fees) Order 2015 (Revocation) Order 2024.

2. The Irish Aviation Authority (Fees) Order 2015, ( S.I. No. 523 of 2015 ) is hereby amended by the insertion after the first sentence in paragraph 2 of the following sentence, “This Order shall cease to have effect after the first day of January 2024.”

3. The Irish Aviation Authority (Fees) Order 2015, ( S.I. No. 523 of 2015 ) is hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)

This Order firstly amends the IAA (Fees) Order 2015, inserting an expiry date after which the fees set out therein shall not be applied. Secondly, the Order then revokes the 2015 Order. Pursuant to s.44 of the Irish Aviation Authority Act,1993, as amended by section 71 of the Air Navigation and Transport Act, 2022, the Irish Aviation Authority may charge such amounts as it considers appropriate as provided for in the Act.
