I, EAMON RYAN, Minister for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purposes of giving further effect to Directive (EU) 2021/2118 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 November 20211 , hereby make the following regulations: | ||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (Motor Insurance) (Amendment) Regulations 2024. | ||
2. Regulation 5 of the European Union (Motor Insurance) Regulations of 2023 ( S.I. No. 643 of 2023 ) is amended by deleting paragraph (3). | ||

These Regulations amend Regulation 5 of the European Union (Motor Insurance) Regulations 2023 ( S.I. No. 643 of 2023 ) by deleting paragraph (3), which amended the European Communities (Non-Life Insurance) Regulations 1976 ( S.I. No. 115 of 1976 ). These Regulations were previously revoked by section 20 (1) of the Finance (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2015 (No. 37 of 2015). | ||
