S.I. No. 622/2023 - Education Act 1998 (Composition of National Council for Curriculum and Assessment) Order 2023

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 15th December, 2023.

I, NORMA FOLEY Minister for Education, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 40 of the Education Act 1998 (No. 51 of 1998) (as adapted by the Education and Skills (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2020 ( S.I. No. 450 of 2020 )), following consultation with the persons specified in that section, hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Education Act 1998 (Composition of National Council for Curriculum and Assessment) Order 2023.

2. The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment shall be composed of the persons specified in the Schedule to this Order.

3. The Education Act 1998 (Composition of National Council for Curriculum and Assessment) Order 2022 ( S.I. No. 206 of 2022 ) is revoked.

1. One Chairperson.

2. One Vice-Chairperson nominated by the Joint Managerial Body.

3. One Vice-Chairperson nominated by Irish National Teachers Organisation.

4. One nominee of the Minister for Education.

5. One Representative of the Joint Managerial Body.

7. One Representative of Catholic Primary Schools Management Association.

8. One Representative of the Church of Ireland Board of Education.

9. One Representative of the National Association of Boards of Management in Special Education.

11. Two Representatives of Teachers’ Union of Ireland (Aontas Múinteoirí Éireann).
