S.I. No. 552/2023 - Valuation Act 2001 (Donegal County Council) (Rate Limitation) Order 2023


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 17th November, 2023.

I, KIERAN O’DONNELL, Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 56 of the Valuation Act 2001 (No. 13 of 2001) and, having obtained the consent of the Minister for Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform, hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Valuation Act 2001 (Donegal County Council) (Rate Limitation) Order 2023.

2. Donegal County Council shall exercise its powers to make such rates in such a manner as to secure that the total amount liable to be paid to it in respect of rates made by it for the local financial year 2024 does not exceed an amount determined in accordance with the formula set out in section 56 (2) of the Valuation Act 2001, where “A” is the figure 1.064 and where “G” is €1,074,028.

This Order requires that Donegal County Council, in exercising its powers to make rates for the financial year 2024, does so in such a way to ensure that the total amount of rates liable to be paid to it does not exceed an amount determined in accordance with the formula as set out in section 56 (2) of the Valuation Act 2001.
