S.I. No. 154/2022 - Health Identifiers Act 2014 (Commencement) Order 2022

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 5th April, 2022.

I, STEPHEN DONNELLY, Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Health Identifiers Act 2014 (No. 15 of 2014) hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Health Identifiers Act 2014 (Commencement) Order 2022.

2. The 31st day of March 2022 is appointed as the day on which subsections (1), (2), (3), (4), (5) and (7) of section 11 of the Health Identifiers Act 2014 (No. 15 of 2014) shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation)

This Order brings those subsections of section 11 of the Health Identifiers Act (No. 15 of 2014) not already in force into operation. This will support the greater use of the Individual Health Identifier in the health system by those persons permitted by the Act to use it.
