S.I. No. 149/2022 - Social Welfare Act 2021 (Section 14) (Commencement) Order 2022

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 1st April, 2022.

I, HEATHER HUMPHREYS, Minister for Social Protection, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (3) of the Social Welfare Act 2021 (No. 44 of 2021), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Social Welfare Act 2021 (Section 14) (Commencement) Order 2022.

2. The 7th day of April 2022 is appointed as the day on which section 14 of the Social Welfare Act 2021 (No. 44 of 2021) shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order provides for the commencement of Section 14 of the Social Welfare Act 2021 from 7 April 2022.

Section 14 provides for a €10 increase in the weekly income thresholds of working family payment for all qualifying families.
