S.I. No. 497/2021 - Sea-Fisheries (Common Fisheries Policy) (Bluefin Tuna) (Amendment) Regulations 2021

I, CHARLIE MCCONALOGUE, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Sections 3 and 14 of the Sea-Fisheries and Maritime Jurisdiction Act 2006 (No. 8 of 2006) and the Sea Fisheries, Foreshore and Dumping at Sea (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order 2007 ( S.I. No. 707 of 2007 ) (as adapted by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2011 ( S.I. No. 455 of 2011 )), for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/2200 of 10 July 2019 hereby make the following regulations:

Citation

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Sea-Fisheries (Common Fisheries Policy) (Bluefin Tuna) (Amendment) Regulations 2021.

2. The Sea-Fisheries (Common Fisheries Policy)(Bluefin Tuna) Regulations 2016 ( S.I. No. 680 of 2016 ) are amended in Regulation 3(1) by the insertion after “20 November 2015” in the definition of “Commission Delegated Regulation” of the following: “and by Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/2200 of 10 July 2019”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The purpose of this Instrument is to amend the Sea-Fisheries (Common Fisheries Policy) (Bluefin Tuna) Regulations 2016 ( S.I. No. 680 of 2016 ) to ensure that full effect is given to certain provisions of EU law insofar as by catch of blue fin tuna is concerned.
