S.I. No. 221/2021 - Emergency Measures in the Public Interest (Covid-19) Act 2020 (Covid-19: employment wage subsidy scheme) (Date Adjustment) (No. 2) Order 2021


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 11th May, 2021.

I, PASCHAL DONOHOE, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 28B(21)(aa) of the Emergency Measures in the Public Interest (Covid-19) Act 2020 (No. 2 of 2020), following completion of an assessment under section 28A(5) of that Act and having determined, following consultation with the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform and the Minister for Social Protection, that the exercise of those powers is necessary to fulfil, better, the objectives specified in section 28A(1) of that Act or to facilitate the furtherance of any of the purposes specified in section 28A(3) of that Act, hereby make the following Order with respect to which, pursuant to section 28B(22) of that Act, a draft has been laid before Dáil Éireann and a resolution approving the draft has been passed by that House:

1. This Order may be cited as the Emergency Measures in the Public Interest (Covid-19) Act 2020 (Covid-19: employment wage subsidy scheme) (Date Adjustment) (No. 2) Order 2021.

2. In this Order, “Act of 2020” means the Emergency Measures in the Public Interest (Covid-19) Act 2020 (No. 2 of 2020).

3. 30 June 2021 is specified as the day on which the period referred to in section 28B(8)(a)(ii) of the Act of 2020 shall end.

4. 30 June 2021 is specified as the day on which the period referred to in section 28B(8)(b)(ii) of the Act of 2020 shall end.

5. The Emergency Measures in the Public Interest (Covid-19) Act 2020 (Covid-19: employment wage subsidy scheme) (Date Adjustment) Order 2021 ( S.I. No. 50 of 2021 ) is revoked.
