S.I. No. 688/2020 - Withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (Consequential Provisions) Act 2020 (Part 15) (Commencement) Order 2020

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 5th January, 2021.

I, LEO VARADKAR, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 (1)(c) of the Withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (Consequential Provisions) Act 2020 (No. 23 of 2020), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (Consequential Provisions) Act 2020 (Part 15) (Commencement) Order 2020.

2. The 29th day of December 2020 is appointed as the day on which sections 103 and 107 of the Withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (Consequential Provisions) Act 2020 (No. 23 of 2020) shall come into operation.

3. The 31st day of December 2020 at 11.00 p.m. is appointed as the day on which and the time at which Part 15 (except insofar as it already is in operation) of the Withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (Consequential Provisions) Act 2020 shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order provides for the commencement, from 29th December 2020 of sections 103 and 107 of the Withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (Consequential Provisions) Act 2020 (No. 23 of 2020), and the commencement from 31st December 2020 at 11pm of Part 15 of the Withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (Consequential Provisions) Act 2020 (No. 23 of 2020), except insofar as it is already in operation.
