S.I. No. 455/2020 - Civil Law and Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2020 (Section 31) (Competition and Consumer Protection Commission) (Designation) Order 2020

I LEO VARADKAR, Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (3) of section 31 of the Civil Law and Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2020 (No. 13 of 2020), and being satisfied it is appropriate to do so having regard to the matters specified in paragraphs (a) to (c) of that subsection as they relate to the body to which the following order applies, hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Civil Law and Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2020 (Section 31) (Competition and Consumer Protection Commission) (Designation) Order 2020.

(2) This Order comes into operation on 15th October 2020.

2. The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, in respect of its holding of hearings under section 20(1)(a)(ii) of the Competition Act 2002 (No. 14 of 2002), and for the purposes of section 31 of the Civil Law and Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2020 (No. 13 of 2020), is designated and may hold such hearings before it by remote hearing.
