The Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purposes of giving effect to Regulation (EU) 2019/941 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 June 20191 hereby make the following regulations: | ||
1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (Electricity Risk Preparedness) Regulations 2020. | ||
(2) In these Regulations ‘EU Regulation’ means Regulation (EU) 2019/941 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 June 20191 . | ||
(3) A word or expression that is used in these Regulations and is also used in the EU Regulation has, unless the context otherwise requires, the same meaning in these Regulations as it has in the EU Regulation. | ||
2. The Commission for Regulation of Utilities is hereby designated as the competent authority for the purposes of Article 3 of the EU Regulation. | ||
