S.I. No. 181/2019 - Safety, Health And Welfare At Work Act 2005 (Agreement To Recognise) Order 2019


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

I, Pat Breen, Minister of State at the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 35 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 (No. 10 of 2005) (as adapted by the Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2017 ( S.I. No. 364 of 2017 )) and the Business, Enterprise and Innovation (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order 2017 ( S.I. No. 569 of 2017 ), with the consent of the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform and after consultation with the Health and Safety Authority, hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 (Agreement to Recognise) Order 2019.

2. The Minister confers on the Authority the function to enter into agreements, with persons or bodies of persons involved in safety, health and welfare at work in and outside the State, in relation to the recognition of matters related to the functions of the Authority referred to in section 34 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 (No. 10 of 2005), as amended from time to time.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation)

The purpose of this Order (as provided for in section 35(1) of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 (No. 10 of 2005)) is to confer on the Health and Safety Authority the function to enter into agreements with persons or bodies involved in safety, health and welfare at work in regard to the recognition of matters related to the functions of the Health and Safety Authority.
