Amendment of Intoxicating Liquor Act 1927

2. The Intoxicating Liquor Act 1927 is amended—

(a) in section 1(1), in the definition of “week day”, by the substitution of “is not Christmas Day or Saint Patrick’s Day” for “is not Good Friday, Christmas Day, or Saint Patrick’s Day”,

(b) in section 2(1) —

(i) in paragraph (a), by the substitution of “Christmas Day” for “Christmas Day or Good Friday”, and

(ii) in paragraph (b)(iii), by the substitution of “Christmas Eve” for “Christmas Eve and the eve of Good Friday”,

(c) in section 4(7)(b), by the substitution of “Saint Patrick’s Day or Christmas Day” for “Saint Patrick’s Day, Christmas Day or Good Friday”,

(d) in section 14, by the substitution of the following paragraph for paragraph (e):

“(e) the sale of intoxicating liquor by the holder of an on-licence at any hour on licensed premises to a person then lodging in such premises.”,

and

(e) in section 56(1)(a), by the substitution of “Christmas Day” for “Christmas Day or Good Friday”.
