S.I. No. 236/2017 - Health Identifiers Act 2014 (Commencement) Order 2017.

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 2nd June, 2017.

I, SIMON HARRIS, Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Health Identifiers Act 2014 (No. 15 of 2014), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Health Identifiers Act 2014 (Commencement) Order 2017.

2. The 30th day of May 2017 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Health Identifiers Act 2014 (No. 15 of 2014) shall come into operation:

(a) subsections 1(a) and (2) of section 10;

(b) subsection (6) of section 11, insofar as it is not already in operation;

(c) Schedule 1;

(d) Schedule 2.

This Order brings certain provisions of the Health Identifiers Act 2014 (No. 15 of 2014) into operation. The provisions deal with accessing the National Register of Individual Health Identifiers and processing the Individual Health Identifier for the relevant purposes permitted under the Act.
