S.I. No. 159/2017 - Residential Tenancies (Amendment) Act 2015 (Section 17(c)) (Commencement) Order 2017.

I, SIMON COVENEY, Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (4) of the Residential Tenancies (Amendment) Act 2015 (No. 42 of 2015) (as adapted by the Environment, Community and Local Government (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2016 ( S.I. No. 394 of 2016 )), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Residential Tenancies (Amendment) Act 2015 (Section 17(c)) (Commencement) Order 2017.

2. The 20th day of April 2017 is appointed as the day on which paragraph (c) of section 17 of the Residential Tenancies (Amendment) Act 2015 (No. 42 of 2015) comes into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The purpose of this commencement order is to bring into operation on 20 April 2017 section 17 (c) of the Residential Tenancies (Amendment) Act 2015 . Section 17(c) provides for changes to the composite registration fee charged by the Residential Tenancies Board by limiting the number of tenancies that can be registered using the composite fee to 10.
