S.I. No. 662/2016 - International Protection Act 2015 (Temporary Residence Certificate) (Prescribed Information) Regulations 2016.


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

I, FRANCES FITZGERALD, Minister for Justice and Equality, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 17 (2)(c) of the International Protection Act 2015 (No. 66 of 2015), hereby make the following regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the International Protection Act 2015 (Temporary Residence Certificate) (Prescribed Information) Regulations 2016.

(2) These Regulations come into operation on 31 December 2016.

2. A temporary residence certificate shall contain the following information:

(a) the gender and nationality of the applicant;

(b) the date on which it is issued;

(c) the date on which it expires;

(d) a unique identification number;

(e) a statement that—

(i) the certificate is the property of the Minister,

(ii) the person to whom it is given is obliged to surrender it when requested to do so by, or on behalf of, the Minister, and

(iii) the applicant is obliged to return the certificate to the Minister without delay when the permission given to the applicant to enter and remain in the State ceases to be valid;

(f) a statement that the certificate is not evidence of the identity or nationality of the holder.
