Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 15th December, 2015.

I, MICHAEL NOONAN, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (5) of the Finance (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2015 (No. 37 of 2015) hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Finance (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2015 (Part 4) (Commencement) Order 2015.

2. The 1st day of January 2016 is appointed as the day on which Part 4 of, and the Schedule to, the Finance (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2015 (No. 37 of 2015) come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This order appoints 1st January 2016 as the date of coming into effect of Part 4 of and the Schedule to Finance (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2015 (No 37 of 2015) which provides for the regulation of insurance undertakings that fall outside the remit of the Solvency II Directive.
