I, LEO VARADKAR, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Directive 2013/60/EU of 27 November 20131 , amending Directive 97/24/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council2 , Directive 2002/24/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council3 and Directive 2009/67/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council4 in so far as it applies to the type approval of two or three-wheel motor vehicles, and systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles, hereby make the following regulations: | ||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Motor Vehicles Type Approval) (Amendment) Regulations 2014. | ||
2. The following is substituted for Schedule 1 Part 2 (inserted by Regulation 3 of the European Communities (Motor Vehicles Type Approval) (Amendment) Regulations 2013) of the European Communities (Motor Vehicles Type Approval) Regulations 2009 ( S.I. No. 127 of 2009 ): | ||

These Regulations amend the European Communities (Motor Vehicles Type Approval) Regulations 2009 ( S.I. No. 127 of 2009 ), which implemented the provisions of a number of European Union Directives which deal with the type approval of motor vehicles, their trailers and components, and two and three-wheel vehicles including quadricycles. These Regulations replace the list of Directives set out in Part 2 of Schedule 1 to the Regulations of 2009 in order to give effect to Commission Directive 2013/60/EU relating to the type-approval of certain components and characteristics of two or three-wheel motor vehicles. | ||
These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Motor Vehicles Type Approval) (Amendment) Regulations 2014. | ||
