S.I. No. 211/2014 - Ministerial and Parliamentary Offices Act 1938 (Sections 10A, 10B, 10C and 10D) (Fixed Day) Order 2014.

I, BRENDAN HOWLIN, Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 10E (inserted by section 3 of the Oireachtas (Ministerial and Parliamentary Offices)(Amendment) Act 2014 (No. 6 of 2014)) of the Ministerial and Parliamentary Offices Act 1938 (No.38 of 1938), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Ministerial and Parliamentary Offices Act 1938 (Sections 10A, 10B, 10C and 10D) (Fixed Day) Order 2014.

2. In this Order—

“Act of 1938” means the Ministerial and Parliamentary Offices Act 1938 (No. 38 of 1938);

“allowance” means an allowance under section 10 of the Act of 1938.

3. The 1st day of July 2014 is fixed as the day on or after which sections 10A to 10D of the Act of 1938 shall apply to an allowance that is paid to an independent member.

4. The 1st day of July 2014 is fixed as the day on or after which section 10C of the Act of 1938 shall apply to an allowance that is paid to a parliamentary leader of a qualifying party.
