S.I. No. 106/2014 - Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013 (Commencement) Order 2014.

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 7th March, 2014.

I, SIMON COVENEY, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) and (3) of the Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013 (No. 15 of 2013), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013 (Commencement) Order 2014 and come into operation on 6 March 2014.

2. The day appointed as the day on which the Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013 (No. 15 of 2013), other than—

(a) the repeal effected by section 4 of—

(i) the Musk Rats Act 1933 (No. 16 of 1933),

(ii) the Livestock Marts Act 1967 (No. 20 of 1967),

(iii) the Bovine Diseases (Levies) Act 1979 (No. 26 of 1979),

(iv) Bovine Diseases (Levies) (Amendment) Act 1996 (No. 5 of 1996), and

(v) the National Beef Assurance Scheme Act 2000 (No. 2 of 2000),

and

(b) Parts 5, 11 and 12,

comes into operation is 6 March 2014.

The effect of this Order is to commence the Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013 (other than the provisions mentioned in paragraphs (a) and (b) of Article 2) from 6 March 2014.
