S.I. No. 131/2013 - Consultative Council on Hepatitis C (Establishment) Order 1996 (Amendment) Order 2013.


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 19th April, 2013.

I, JAMES REILLY, Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsections (3) and (4) of section 98 (as amended by section 41 of the Health Act 1953 (No. 26 of 1953)) of the Health Act 1947 (No. 28 of 1947), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Consultative Council on Hepatitis C (Establishment) Order 1996 (Amendment) Order 2013.

2. The Consultative Council on Hepatitis C (Establishment) Order 1996 ( S.I. No. 339 of 1996 ) is amended—

(a) in Article 5—

(i) by substituting “eight” for “sixteen”, and

(ii) in paragraph (iii), by substituting “Two” for “One”,

(b) in Article 6, by substituting “an employee of the Health Service Executive” for “a member of the Council”,

and

(c) in Article 8, by substituting “four” for “seven”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation)

This Order amends the Consultative Council on Hepatitis C (Establishment) Order 1996 and has the effect of reducing the number of members on the Council from sixteen to eight. The quorum of the Consultative Council is amended to four.

Membership of the Council now comprises:

(i) Two representatives from Positive Action,

(ii) Two representatives from Transfusion Positive,

(iii) Two representatives from the Irish Haemophilia Society, and

(iv) One representative from the Irish Kidney Association.

The Consultative Council will be chaired by the HSE.
