I, MARY HARNEY, Minister for Health and Children, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Directive 2010/37/EU of 17 June 20101 , hereby make the following regulations— | ||
1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Additives, Colours and Sweeteners in Foodstuffs) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2010. | ||
(2) The collective citation “the European Communities (Additives, Colours and Sweeteners in Foodstuffs) Regulations 2000 to 2010” includes these Regulations. | ||
2. In these Regulations “Principal Regulations” means the European Communities (Additives, Colours and Sweeteners in Foodstuffs) Regulations 2000 ( S.I. No. 437 of 2000 ). | ||
3. Regulation 2(1) of the Principal Regulations is amended— | ||
(a) in the definition of “the Directives”, by substituting— | ||
“Commission Directive 2008/60/EC7A of 17 June 2008 (as amended by Commission Directive 2010/37/EU7B of 17 June 2010)” | ||
for | ||
“Commission Directive 2008/60/EC7A of 17 June 2008” and by the addition of the following footnote— | ||
“7B OJ L 152, 18.6.2010, p. 12”, | ||
(b) by substituting for the definition of “Directive 2008/60/EC” the following— | ||
“ ‘Directive 2008/60/EC’ means Commission Directive 2008/60/EC7A of 17 June 2008) laying down specific purity criteria concerning sweeteners for use in foodstuffs (as amended by Commission Directive 2010/37/EU7B of 17 June 2010)”. | ||

These Regulations give effect to Commission Directive 2010/37/EU of 17 June 2010 amending Directive 2008/60/EC laying down specific purity criteria on sweeteners. | ||
These Regulations amend the European Communities (Additives, Colours and Sweeteners in Foodstuffs) Regulations 2000 ( S.I. No. 437 of 2000 ) in the manner specified in these Regulations. | ||
These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Additives, Colours and Sweeteners in Foodstuffs) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2010. | ||
