S.I. No. 185/2010 - Enterprise, Trade and Employment (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2010.


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 30th April, 2010.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6(1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Enterprise, Trade and Employment (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2010.

(2) This Order comes into operation on 2 May 2010.

2. The name of the Department of State, the present name of which is, in the Irish language, An Roinn Fiontar, Trádála agus Fostaíochta and, in the English language, the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, is altered, in the Irish language, to that of An Roinn Fiontar, Trádála agus Nuálaíochta and, in the English language, to that of the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Innovation.

3. The title of the Minister having charge of the Department of State, whose present title is, in the Irish language, an tAire Fiontar, Trádála agus Fostaíochta and, in the English language, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, is altered, in the Irish language, to that of an tAire Fiontar, Trádála agus Nuálaíochta and, in the English language, to that of the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation.

4. In an enactment or instrument made under an enactment–

(a) references to the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment shall be construed as references to the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Innovation, and

(b) references to the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment shall be construed as references to the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Innovation.
