Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

I, JOHN GORMLEY, Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 56 of the Valuation Act 2001 , as amended by section 8 of the Local Government (Business Improvement Districts) Act 2006 , having obtained the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby order that South Dublin County Council exercise its powers to make rates in such a manner as to secure that the total amount liable to be paid to it in respect of rates made by it for the local financial year 2008 does not exceed an amount determined in accordance with the formula set out in section 56 (2) of the Valuation Act 2001 , as amended, where “A” is the figure 1.05.

This order may be cited as the Valuation Act 2001 (South Dublin County Council) (Rate Limitation) Order 2007.

EXPLANATORY NOTE:

This order requires that South Dublin County Council, in exercising its powers to make rates for the financial year 2008, does so in such a way to ensure that the total amount of rates liable to be paid to it does not exceed an amount determined in accordance with the formula set out in section 56 (2) of the Valuation Act 2001 . This formula relates to Consumer Price Index (All Items).
