S.I. No. 474/2005 - Disability Act 2005 (Commencement) Order 2005


I, MICHAEL McDOWELL T.D., Minister for Justice Equality and Law Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Disability Act 2005 (No. 14 of 2005), hereby order as follows:

1.  This Order may be cited as the Disability Act 2005 (Commencement) Order 2005.

2.  In this Order “Act of 2005” means the Disability Act 2005 (No. 14 of 2005).

3.  (1)  The 29th day of July 2005 is fixed as the day on which the following provisions of the Act of 2005 come into operation:

(a)  Part 1;

(b)  sections 24, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36 and 37; and

(c)  Part 7.

(2)  The 31st day of December 2005 is fixed as the day on which the following provisions of the Act of 2005 come into operation:

(a)  sections 38, 39 and 40; and

(b)  Part 4; and

(c)  Part 5.

(3)  The 1st day of January 2007 is fixed as the day on which Part 6 of the Act of 2005 comes into operation.
