S.I. No. 441/2004 - Electoral Act 1997 (Section 53) Order 2004


The Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 49 and 53 of the Electoral Act 1997 (No. 25 of 1997), hereby makes the following order, a draft of which has been approved by a resolution passed by each House of the Oireachtas:

1. This order may be cited as the electoral Act 1997 (section 53) Order 2004.

2. The aggregate of election expenses which may be incurred by or on behalf of a candidate in a presidential election in connection with his or her candidature at the presidential election shall not exceed €1,300,000.
