S.I. No. 247/2004 - Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act 1863 (Section 17 and Section 18) (Galway, Mayo & Roscommon) Order 2004


An tArd-Chláraitheoir, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 17 and Section 18 of the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act 1863, hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act 1863 (Section 17 and Section 18) (Galway, Mayo & Roscommon) Order 2004.

2. The existing Registrars Districts of Galway, Turloughmore, Oughterard and Gort shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Galway.

3. The existing Registrars Districts of Castlebar No. 1, Castlebar No. 2, Hollymount, Balla, Ballindine, Claremorris, Foxford, Islandeady and Crossmolina shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Mayo.

4. The existing Registrars District of Castlerea, Roscommon, Frenchpark and Boyle No. 1 shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Roscommon.

5. This Order shall come into operation on the 31st day of May 2004.

The effect of this Order is to amalgamate certain Registrars' Districts in the functional area of the Western Health Board, so as to reduce the number of Districts in that area.
