S.I. No. 46/2004 - Fisheries (Amendment) Act 2003 (Section 23) Order 2004


I, BRIAN COWEN, T.D., Minister for Foreign Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 23 of the Fisheries (Amendment) Act 2003 (No. 21 of 2003), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Fisheries (Amendment) Act 2003 (Section 23) Order 2004.

2. It is hereby declared that the states specified in the Schedule to this Order are party states for the purposes of Part 4 of the Fisheries (Amendment) Act 2003 .

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)

Section 23 of the Fisheries (Amendment) Act 2003 enables the Minister for Foreign Affairs to declare by order which states are party states to the Agreement for the implementation of the provisions of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea of 10 December 1982 relating to the Conservation and Management of Straddling Fish Stocks and Highly Migratory Fish Stocks, done at New York on the 4th of August 1995. This Order specifies in the Schedule which States are party states.
