S.I. No. 272/2003 - European Communities (Pesticide Residues) (Cereals) (Amendment) Regulations, 2003


I, Joe Walsh, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Directive 2002/97/EC of 16 December 20021 hereby make the following Regulations—

1.           These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Pesticide Residues) (Cereals) (Amendment) Regulations, 2003 and come into operation on 1 July 2003.

2.           The European Communities (Pesticide Residues) (Cereals) Regulations 1999 ( S.I. No. 181 of 1999 ) is amended, in the Schedule, by the addition of the following matter to Part A of Annex II—

Pesticide Residues

Maximum Residue levels in mg/kg

2,4-D (sum of 2,4-D and its esters expressed as 2,4-D)

0.05 (*) (p) cereals

Triasulfuron

0.05 (*) (p) cereals

Thifensulfuron methyl

0.05 (*) (p) cereals

These Regulations amend existing Regulations on the fixing of maximum residue levels for pesticides in and on cereals.
