S.I. No. 289/2002 - Merchant Shipping (Investigation of Marine Casualties) Act 2000 (Remaining Provisions) (Commencement) Order 2002

I, Frank Fahey, Minster for the Marine and Natural Resources, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Merchant Shipping (Investigation of Marine Casualties) Act 2000 (No. 14 of 2000) hereby order as follows:

1.         This Order may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Investigation of Marine Casualties) Act 2000 (Remaining Provisions) (Commencement) Order 2002.

2.         The 5 th day of June 2002 is hereby fixed as the day on which so much of the Merchant Shipping (Investigation of Marine Casualties) Act 2000 (No. 14 of 2000) shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings into operation the remaining provisions (sections 1 - 43) of the Merchant Shipping (Investigation of Marine Casualties) Act 2000 (No 14 of 2000 with effect from the 5th June 2002.
