S.I. No. 272/2002 - Dormant Accounts Act, 2001 (Establishment Day) Order, 2002

The Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of the Dormant Accounts Act, 2001 (No. 32 of 2001), orders as follows:

1.    This Order may be cited as the Dormant Accounts Act, 2001 (Establishment Day) Order, 2002.

2.    The 5th day of June 2002 is appointed to be the establishment day for the purposes of the Dormant Accounts Act 2001 (No. 32 of 2001).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

(This note is not part of the Instrument nor does it purport to be a legal interpretation.)

This order provides that the 5th day of June, 2002 will be the day of establishment for the Dormant Accounts Act, 2001 .

The Dormant Accounts Fund Disbursements Board, whose remit is to oversee a scheme for the disbursement of surplus dormant funds is established on this day as per the provisions of Section 30 of the Act.
