S.I. No. 126/2002 - Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863 (Section 17 and Section 18) (Cork and Clare) Order, 2000


An tArd-Chláraitheoir, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 17 and Section 18 of the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863, hereby orders as follows:

1.       This Order may be cited as the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act 1863 Section 17 and Section 18) (Cork and Clare) Order, 2002.

2.       The existing Registrars' Districts of Ballyhooly, Ballynoe, Fermoy Kildorrery, Kilworth, Mitchelstown No.1 and Rathcormac shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrars District of Fermoy.

3.       The existing Registrars' Districts of Boherbue, Kanturk, Milford Newmarket, Ballyclough, Buttevant, Doneraile, Kilshannig, Mallow, Rahan and Rathluric shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrars District of Mallow.

4.       The existing Registrars' Districts of Skibbereen, Union Hall, Rosscarbery Dunmanway, Ballineen and Coolmountain shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrars District of Skibbereen.

5.       The existing Registrars' Districts of Cragaknock, Kilrush, Kilkee and West Clare shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrars District of West Clare.

This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of April 2002.

Explanatory Note

The effect of this Order is to amalgamate certain Registrars' Districts in the functional areas of the Southern Health Board and the Mid-Western Health Board so as to reduce the number of such districts in those areas.
