S.I. No. 119/2002 - Social Welfare (Consolidated Supplementary Welfare Allowance) (Amendment) Regulations, 2002


The Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 4 (as amended by section 9 of the Social Welfare Act, 2001 (No. 5 of 2001)) of the Social Welfare (Consolidation) Act, 1993 (No. 27 of 1993) and Rule 1(1) (m) (as amended by section 26 of the Social Welfare Act 1997 (No. 10 of 1997)) of Part III of the Third Schedule to the said Act hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and construction.

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Consolidated Supplementary Welfare Allowance) (Amendment) Regulations, 2002.

(2) These Regulations and the Social Welfare (Consolidated Supplementary Welfare Allowance) Regulations, 1995 to 2001 shall be construed together as one and may be cited as the Social Welfare (Consolidated Supplementary Welfare Allowance) Regulations, 1995 to 2002.

Commencement.

2. These Regulations come into operation on 1 April, 2002.

Amendment to Regulations.

3. The Social Welfare (Consolidated Supplementary Welfare Allowance) Regulations, 1995 ( S.I. No. 382 of 1995 ) are hereby amended by the substitution in article 33 (as amended by article 3 of Social Welfare (Consolidated Supplementary Welfare Allowance) (Amendment) Regulations, 2000 ( S.I. No. 102 of 2000 )) for “£75.00” of “EUR 120”.

These Regulations provide for an increase from £75 (EUR 95.23 to EUR 120 in the amount of weekly earnings from employment of a rehabilitative nature disregarded in the assessment of means for the purposes of Supplementary Welfare Allowance, with effect from 01 April, 2002.
