S.I. No. 593/2001 - Dormant Accounts Act, 2001 (Commencement) Order, 2001

The Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 1 (2) of the Dormant Accounts Act, 2001 (No. 32 of 2001), hereby orders as follows:

Citation.

1.    This Order may be cited as the Dormant Accounts Act, 2001 (Commencement) Order, 2001.

Commencement.

2.    The 1st day of January 2002, is hereby appointed as the day on which the Dormant Accounts Act, 2001 (No. 32 of 2001) come into operation.

The Dormant Accounts Act, 2001 deals with dormant accounts in credit institutions.

This Order provides that the Dormant Accounts Act, 2001 will come into effect on the 1st day of January, 2002.
