S.I. No. 497/2001 - Electoral (Amendment) Act, 2001 (Commencement) Order, 2001

The Minister for the Environment and Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 1 (9) of the Electoral (Amendment) Act, 2001 , hereby orders as follows:-

1.       This Order may be cited as the Electoral (Amendment) Act, 2001 (Commencement) Order, 2001.

2.       Sections 1 to 4, 9, 10, 14, 15, 24, 26, 28 to 48, 51, 52, 54 (other than paragraph (k)) and 55 shall come into operation on the making of this Order.

3.       Section 50 shall come into operation on 1 November, 2001.

4.       Sections 11, 16, 18 to 21, 23, 49 and 56 to 58 shall come into operation on 1 January, 2002.

5.       Sections 5 to 8, 12, 13, 25 and 27 shall come into operation on 15 February, 2002.
