S.I. No. 380/2001 - Vocational Education (Amendment) Act, 2001 (Commencement Order), 2001

I, MICHAEL WOODS Minister for Education & Science, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (3) of the Vocational Education (Amendment) Act 2001 (No. 23 of 2001), hereby order as follows:

1.      This Order may be cited as the Vocational Education (Amendment) Act, 2001 (Commencement) Order, 2001.

2.      The 20^th day of July, 2001, is appointed as the day on which —

(a)      the repeal of section 23 of the Principal Act, effected by section 4 of the Vocational Education (Amendment) Act, 2001 (No. 23 of 2001), save in so far as the said section 23 relates to a person appointed under that section, who immediately before such day held —

(i)      office as chief executive officer of a vocational education committee,

(ii)      office as an officer of such a committee (other than chief executive officer), or

(iii)      any other position under that section, and

(b)      sections 11, 12, 15 and 20, of the second-mentioned Act,

shall come into operation.
