S.I. No. 126/2000 - Insurance (Fees) (Amendment) Order, 2000.


I, NOEL TREACY, Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 6 and 7 of the Insurance Act, 1989 (No. 3 of 1989), and the Enterprise, Trade and Employment (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1998 ( S.I. No. 265 of 1998 ) (as adapted by the Enterprise and Employment (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1997 ( S.I. No. 305 of 1997 ), and with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Insurance (Fees) (Amendment) Order, 2000.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on 10 May 2000.

2. The Insurance (Fees) Order, 1995 ( S.I. No. 128 of 1995 ), is amended by the deletion of—

(a) Article 4(2), and

(b) the third column of the Schedule.

This Order abolishes the requirement for EU Branches/Services Insurers to pay annual fees to the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment.

The Order is effective from 10 May, 2000.
