S.I. No. 220/1999 — Postal and Telecommunications Services (Amendment) Act, 1999 (Commencement) (No. 2) Order, 1999.

I, MARY O'ROURKE, T.D., Minister for Public Enterprise, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 11 (2) of the Postal and Telecommunications Services (Amendment) Act, 1999 (No. 5 of 1999), hereby make the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Postal and Telecommunications Services (Amendment) Act, 1999 (Commencement) (No. 2) Order, 1999.

2. In this Order “Act of 1999” means the Postal and Telecommunications Services (Amendment) Act, 1999 (No. 5 of 1999).

3. The 15th day of July, 1999, is hereby appointed as the day on which sections 3(1) (in respect of sections 8 (1) (a) and 8 (3) of the Telecommunications (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1996 , mentioned in column (3) of the First Schedule of the Act of 1999), 3(2) (in respect of sections 32 , 33 and 37 of the Postal and Telecommunications Services Act, 1983 , mentioned in column (3) of the Second Schedule of the Act of 1999) and 10 of the Act of 1999 shall come into operation.

This Order brings into operation on the 15th day of July, 1999 certain provisions of the Postal and Telecommunications Services (Amendment) Act, 1999 . The Order provides for the commencement of the repeal under section 3(1) of the Act of sections 8 (1)(a) and 8 (3) of the Telecommunications (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1996 , the commencement of the repeal under section 3(2) of the Act of sections 32 , 33 and 37 of the Postal and Telecommunications Services Act, 1983 , and the commencement of section 10 of the Act concerning the non-application of certain Acts to Bord Telecom Éireann plc.
