S.I. No. 173/1999 - Irish Sports Council Act, 1999 (Establishment Day) Order, 1999.

I, JAMES McDAID, Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 4 of the Irish Sports Council Act, 1999 (No. 6 of 1999), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Irish Sports Council Act, 1999 (Establishment Day) Order, 1999.

2. The 1st day of July, 1999, is hereby appointed as the establishment day for the purposes of the Irish Sports Council Act, 1999 (No. 6 of 1999).

The Order appoints the 1st day of July, 1999, as the establishment day for the purposes of the Irish Sports Council Act, 1999 .

The purpose of the Irish Sports Council Act, 1999 , is to establish a statutory body, the Irish Sports Council, to promote and encourage the development of sport in Ireland.
