S.I. No. 143/1999 - European Communities (Vehicle Testing) (Amendment) Regulations, 1999.


In exercise of the powers conferred on the Minister for the Environment and Local Government by Section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) which said powers are delegated to me by the Environment and Local Government (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1997, ( S.I. No. 427 of 1997 ) and for the purpose of giving effect to Council Directive 96/96/EC1 , I, ROBERT MOLLOY, Minister of State at the Department of the Environment and Local Government, hereby make the following Regulations:—

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Vehicle Testing) (Amendment) Regulations, 1999.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of July, 1999.

2. The following sub-article is hereby substituted for sub-article (2) of Article 7 of the European Communities (Vehicle Testing) Regulations, 1991 ( S.I. No. 356 of 1991 ) as amended by Article 2 of the European Communities (Vehicle Testing) (Amendment) Regulations, 1996 ( S.I. No. 108 of 1996 ):—

“(2) The application shall be accompanied by a fee as follows:—

(a) for vehicles in fee category A as specified in column 5 of the First Schedule hereto for the relevant vehicles class, a fee of £66.50,

(b) for vehicles in fee category B as specified in column 5 of the First Schedule hereto for the relevant vehicle class, a fee of £53.80, and

(c) for vehicles in fee category C as specified in column 5 of the First Schedule hereto for the relevant vehicle class, a fee of £38.”.

The Regulations increase the fees chargeable by authorised testers for carrying out tests in accordance with the Vehicle Testing Regulations.
