S.I. No. 1/1999 - Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (First Schedule) (Amendment) Order, 1999.


I, Joe Walsh, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 11 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), as adapted by the Agriculture, Food and Forestry (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1997, ( S.I. No. 302 of 1997 ), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (First Schedule) (Amendment) Order, 1999.

(2) The Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (First Schedule) (Amendment) Orders, 1968 to 1995, and this Order may be cited together as the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (First Schedule) (Amendment) Orders, 1968 to 1999.

2. In this Order—

“the Act” means the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966);

“the First Schedule” means the First Schedule to the Act, as amended by the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (First Schedule) (Amendment) Orders, 1968 to 1995.

3. For all purposes of the Act, the First Schedule is hereby amended by the insertion in Part III thereof at the end of Class A of the following:

“44 Transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (other than bovine spongiform encephalopathy and scrapie).”.
