S.I. No. 525/1998 - Infectious Diseases (Maintenance Allowances) (Increased Payment) Regulations, 1998

The Minister for Health and Children, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 and 44 (5) of the Health Act, 1947 (No. 28 of 1947) (as adapted by the Health (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1997 ( S.I. No. 308 of 1997 )), with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby makes the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Infectious Diseases (Maintenance Allowances) (Increased Payment) Regulations, 1998.

2. It is hereby prescribed that the payment to be made under section 44 (3) of the Health Act, 1947 , in accordance with the Infectious Diseases (Maintenance Allowances) Regulations, 1998 ( S.I. No. 115 of 1998 ), to or in respect of a person or his or her dependants, as respects the weekly payment in respect of the week ending on the 4th day of December, 1998, shall be increased by a rate equal to 70 per cent. of the payment or£20, whichever is the greater.

The Minister for Finance consents to the making of the foregoing Regulations.
