REGISTRATION OF BIRTHS AND DEATHS (IRELAND) ACT, 1863 (SECTION 17 AND SECTION 18) (NORTH EASTERN) ORDER, 1998.

An tArd-Chláraitheoir, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 17 and Section 18 of the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863, hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863 (Section 17 and Section 18) (North Eastern) No. 1 Order, 1998.

2. The existing Registrars' Districts of Dundalk and Cooley shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Dundalk.

3. The existing Registrars' Districts of Dunboyne, Killeen and Rathoath shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Dunboyne.

4. The existing Registrars' Districts of Cavan, Cavan Rural, Kingscourt and Shercock shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Cavan.

5. The existing Registrars' Districts of Ballyconnell and Newtowngore No. 2 shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Ballyconnell.

6. The existing Registrars' Districts of Dowra and Swanlinbar shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Swanlinbar.

7. The existing Registrars' Districts of Monaghan, Carrickmacross, Donaghmoyne and Referagh shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Monaghan.

8. The existing Superintendent Registrars' Districts of Carrickmacross and Monaghan shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Superintendent Registrar's District to be known as the Superintendent Registrar's District of Monaghan.

9. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1998.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to amalgamate certain Superintendent Registrars' Districts and Registrars' Districts in the functional area of the North Eastern Health Board so as to reduce the number of such districts in that area.
