REGISTRATION OF BIRTHS AND DEATHS (IRELAND) ACT, 1863 (SECTION 17 AND SECTION 18) (EASTERN) ORDER, 1997

An tArd-Chláraitheoir, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 17 and Section 18 of the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863, hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863 (Section 17 and Section 18) (Eastern) Order, 1997

2. The existing Registrars' Districts of Athy East and Athy West shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Athy.

3. The existing Registrars' Districts of Carbury, Johnstown and Naas shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Naas.

4. The existing Registrars' Districts of Baltinglass, Dunlavin and Kiltegan shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Baltinglass.

5. The existing Registrars' Districts of Bray No. 1 and Delgany/Greystones shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Bray.

6. The existing Superintendent Registrars' Districts of Dublin, Balrothery and Rathdown shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Superintendent Registrar's District to be known as the Superintendent Registrar's District of Dublin.

7. The existing Superintendent Registrars' Districts of Baltinglass, Rathdrum and Shillelagh shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Superintendent Registrar's District to be known as the Superintendent Registrar's District of Wicklow.

8. This Order shall come into operation on the 9th day of October, 1997.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The effect of this Order is to amalgamate certain Superintendent Registrars' Districts and Registrars' Districts in the functional area of the Eastern Health Board so as to reduce the number of such districts in that area.
