REGISTRATION OF BIRTHS AND DEATHS (IRELAND) ACT, 1863 (SECTION 17 AND SECTION 18) (MID-WESTERN) ORDER, 1997

An tArd-Chláraitheoir, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 17 and Section 18 of the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863, hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863 (Section 17 and Section 18) (Mid-western) Order, 1997.

2. The existing Registrars' Districts of Glin and Rathkeale shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Rathkeale.

3. The existing Registrars' Districts of Galbally, Kilfinane, Kilmallock shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Kilmallock.

4. The existing Registrars' Districts of Borrisokane and Nenagh shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Nenagh.

5. The existing Registrars' Districts of Templemore and Thurles shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Thurles.

6. The existing Registrars' Districts of Feakle, Mountshannon and Tulla shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Tulla.

7. The existing Registrars' Districts of Kilkee and Carrigaholt shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Kilkee.

8. The existing Superintendent Registrars' Districts of Limerick and Newcastle West shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Superintendent Registrar's District to be known as the Superintendent Registrar's District of Limerick.

9. The existing Superintendent Registrars' Districts of Borrisokane, Nenagh, Roscrea and Thurles shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Superintendent Registrar's District to be known as the Superintendent Registrar's District of North Tipperary.

10. The existing Superintendent Registrars' Districts of Ennistymon, Ennis, Corofin, Killadysert, Kilrush and Scariff shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Superintendent Registrar's District to be known as the Superintendent Registrar's District of Clare.

11. This Order shall come into operation on the 7th day of October, 1997.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The effect of this Order is to amalgamate certain Superintendent Registrars' Districts and Registrars' Districts in the functional area of the Mid-western Health Board so as to reduce the number of such districts in that area.
