DUBLIN DOCKLANDS DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY ACT, 1997, (COUNCIL) REGULATIONS, 1997

The Minister for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 7 , 16 (5) and 16 (15) of the Dublin Docklands Development Authority Act, 1997 (No. 7 of 1997), hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Dublin Docklands Development Authority Act, 1997 , (Council) Regulations, 1997.

2. In these Regulations:—

"the Act" means the Dublin Docklands Development Authority Act, 1997 ;

"the Council" means the Council established pursuant to section 16 of the Act;

"the Minister" means the Minister for the Environment.

3. The prescribed organisations for the purposes of section 16 (5) (a) of the Act shall be—

( a ) An Taisce - the National Trust for Ireland,

( b ) the Construction Industry Federation,

( c ) the Dublin Chamber of Commerce,

( d ) the Dublin City Centre Business Association,

( e ) the Dublin City Enterprise Board,

( f ) the Dublin City Vocational Education Committee,

( g ) Dublin Tourism,

( h ) FS - the Employment and Training Authority,

( i ) the Financial Services Industry Association,

( j ) Forfas,

( k ) the Inland Waterways Association of Ireland - Dublin Branch,

( l ) the Inner City Teachers' Organisation,

( m ) the Irish Business and Employers' Confederation,

( n ) the Irish Congress of Trade Unions,

( o ) the Irish National Organisation of the Unemployed,

( p ) the Irish Nautical Trust,

( q ) the Irish Small and Medium Enterprises Association,

( r ) the National Women's Council of Ireland,

( s ) the National Youth Council of Ireland, and

( t ) the University of Dublin, Trinity College.

4. The prescribed organisations for the purposes of section 16 (5) (b) of the Act shall be—

( a ) the Alliance for Work Forum,

( b ) the Bath Avenue Residents Association,

( c ) the Bolton Trust,

( d ) the City Arts Squad,

( e ) the City Quay Residents' Association,

( f ) the Community Council of East Wall,

( g ) Community Technical Aid,

( h ) the Dublin Inner City Partnership,

( i ) the East Wall Residents Association,

( j ) the Grand Canal Docks Trust,

( k ) Inner City Enterprise,

( l ) the Inner City Organisations Network,

( m ) the Inner City Renewal Group,

( n ) the Larkin Unemployed Centre,

( o ) the Larkin Women's Group,

( p ) the North Centre City Community Action Project,

( q ) the North Strand Residents Association,

( r ) the North Wall Community Association,

( s ) the North Wall Women's Group,

( t ) the Pigeon House Heritage Project,

( u ) the Ringsend Action Project,

( v ) the Ringsend and District Community Centre,

( w ) the Ringsend and Irishtown Networking Group,

( x ) the Ringsend and Irishtown Residents Association,

( y ) the Ringsend and Irishtown Women's Group,

( z ) the Ringsend Community Training Workshop,

( aa ) the Ringsend Liaison Group,

( bb ) the Ringsend River Amenity Group,

( cc ) Rinn Development Initiative,

( dd ) the Riverside Amenities Group,

( ee ) the Saint Andrew's Resource Centre,

( ff ) the Shelbourne and Area Residents Association,

( gg ) the South East Urban Network,

( hh ) the South Lotts Residents Association, and

( ii ) the Women's Forum.

5. The prescribed organisations for the purposes of section 16 (5) (c) of the Act shall be—

( a ) the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland,

( b ) the Institution of Engineers of Ireland,

( c ) the Irish Association of Professional Archaeologists,

( d ) the Irish Landscape Institute,

( e ) the Irish Planning Institute,

( f ) the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland,

( g ) the Royal Town Planning Institute, Irish Branch - Southern Section, and

( h ) the Society of Chartered Surveyors.

6. Each of the organisations prescribed for the purposes of any paragraph of section 16 (5) of the Act shall, when informing the Minister of the names of candidates selected for appointment as ordinary members of the Council in response to a request in that regard under section 16 (7) of the Act, send to the Minister a curriculum vitae in respect of each candidate together with a written consent of each candidate to the selection of that candidate in accordance with the request.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations prescribe organisations for the purposes of selecting candidates for appointment by the Minister as ordinary members of the Council of the Dublin Docklands Development Authority and also provide for related matters.
