INDUSTRIAL TRAINING (FOOD, DRINK AND TOBACCO COMMITTEE) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1997.

An Foras Áiseanna Saothair in exercise of the power conferred on it by Section 24 of the Industrial Training Act, 1967 (No. 5 of 1967), and Section 4 (2) of the Labour Services Act, 1987 (No. 15 of 1987), hereby makes the following Order—

1. This Order may be cited as the Industrial Training (Food, Drink and Tobacco Committee) (Amendment) Order, 1997.

2. In this Order "the Order of 1970" means the Industrial Training (Food, Drink and Tobacco Committee) Order, 1970 as amended.

3. The Order of 1970 and this Order may be cited together as the Industrial Training (Food, Drink and Tobacco Committee) Orders, 1970 and 1997.

4. Article 7 of the Order of 1970 is hereby amended by the substitution of "four years" for "three years and nine months".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

An Foras Áiseanna Saothair (The Training and Employment Authority) was established under the Labour Services Act 1987 as successor to An Comhairle Oiliúna (The Industrial Training Authority).

The Industrial Training (Food, Drink and Tobacco Committee) Order, 1970 made by An Chomhairle Oiliúna established an Industrial Training Committee, to be known as the Food, Drink and Tobacco Industry Training Committee, to advise and assist An Chomhairle Oiliúna, as respects the performance of its functions. All such functions have now been transferred to An Foras Áiseanna Saothair under the above mentioned Act.

This Order amends the Industrial Training (Food, Drink and Tobacco Committee) Order, 1970 by extending the term of office of the members of the Committee from three years and nine months to four years.
