DESIGNS AND TRADE MARKS (INTERNATIONAL ARRANGEMENTS)(AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1996

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 152 (5) of the Industrial and Commercial Property (Protection) Act, 1927 (No. 16 of 1927) (as adapted by section 2 of the Executive Powers (Consequential Provisions) Act, 1937 ) (No. 20 of 1937), and section 70 (5) of the Trade Marks Act, 1963 (No. 9 of 1963), hereby order as follows:

1. This order may be cited as the Designs and Trade Marks (International Arrangements) (Amendment) Order, 1996.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. It is hereby declared that the provisions of section 152 of the Industrial and Commercial Property (Protection) Act, 1927 (No. 16 of 1927) (as amended by section 7 of the Industrial and Commercial Property (Protection) (Amendment) Act, 1957 (No. 13 of 1957) and section 70 of the Trade Marks Act, 1963 ) (No. 9 of 1963), apply in the case of Foreign States specified in the Schedule to this Order.

4. The Patents, Designs and Trade Marks, (International Arrangements) Order, 1987 ( S.I. No. 223 of 1987 ), is hereby revoked.
